Did you know there is an extra special season in the yearly calendar? It’s the ‘Baby Season’, the most favorite season of all! The Season starts in July each year, peaks in August, then September, October, November through to December.

Each year in the USA just under 4 million babies are born and we are the 3rd most populous country after China and India. According to the latest available data (2013), 12.4 babies are born per 1,000 population and there are 62.5 births per 1000 women aged 15-44 years. How do they get the .4 and .5 – do you understand that?

Anyway, did you know more babies are born on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with Sundays the least popular day of the week? The highest number of births occur during the morning and midday hours. Births on Saturday and Sunday are more likely to occur in the late evening and early morning hours than births Monday through Friday.

The greatest number of births are in California, followed by Texas and then New York.

Boys outnumber girls every year and the average age for a first time mother is 26 years.
